At Ward, Hocker & Thornton, we are committed to providing exceptional legal services to all of our clients. We had previously informed you that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we began Work from Home on March 23rd. We have striven to maintain that high level of commitment to our clients while making the necessary changes to our daily operations to prevent the spread of the virus.
During this time, we have been closely monitoring federal, state and local guidelines for reopening in a way that is safe for our attorneys, support staff and clients. As directed by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear in his “Healthy at Work” Phase 1 Reopening Guidelines, WHT is now allowing 50% of our attorneys to work in office, effective May 11th. The other half of our attorneys and support staff are still working from home every day. We have implemented the following policies in order to keep those in our office safe and to prevent the spread of the virus:
1.) Meetings including court appearances, depositions and mediations will continue to be conducted via videoconferencing;
2.) All attorneys must wear a mask when moving within the office and entering or exiting the building;
3.) We have closed all common areas within our office to encourage social distancing and have asked all attorneys to remain six feet apart;
4.) We have made hand sanitizer available to everyone in office and greatly increased the daily cleaning of door handles and copy machines;
5.) Every employee who chooses to come into the office will be conducting self-administered temperature checks to assure that no one in the office has a fever.
For the remaining attorneys and staff who will continue working remotely, nothing will change for you as our client. Our remote technology infrastructure allows for all of the same network access and system security as our in-office systems. Our attorneys are diligently working so that there will not be any change in our level of service.
We wish for everyone, our staff, our clients, friends, and family to be safe and healthy during this time. We thank you for your continued trust in our Firm. If you have any questions or concerns, please call our office at 859.422.6000.
