Ward, Hocker & Thornton, PLLC is pleased to announce that Member Walter A. Ward has been selected as a 2021 inductee into the Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honors those who have made significant contributions to the Kentucky’s Workers’ Compensation system during their distinguished careers.
All inductees will be honored at the 2020/2021 Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Hall of Fame dinner being held at the Campbell House in Lexington on Thursday June 24, 2021 in conjunction with the UK Workers’ Compensation Seminar.
Walter was a founding Member of WHT in 1984 after 18 months as a contract trial lawyer for the state of Kentucky and 10 years with a prominent Louisville insurance defense firm. His career has been devoted to litigation of workers’ compensation claims, representing insurers, self-insured companies, third-party administrators and professional employer organizations. He has received the Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent™ Rating; has been named to The Best Lawyers in America, 1997 – 2020; was named Best Lawyers in America, Lexington Lawyer of the Year: Workers’ Compensation Law, Employers, 2012 and 2018; and has been selected to Kentucky Super Lawyers®, Workers’ Compensation Defense, 2008 – 2021.
