Ward, Hocker & Thornton Member, Gene Zipperle, presented at the 2017 MCIEF- Motor Carrier Insurance Education Foundation- Conference Oct. 5-6, in Orlando, Florida, with over 300 attendees. Gene served as plaintiff’s counsel for a mock trial involving a fatality called “A Crash Happens”.
The mock trial lasted approximately four hours with other attorneys serving as the judge, expert witnesses, and defense counsel. Several conference attendees acted as the defendant, plaintiff, and witnesses. This mock trial was a unique opportunity for the attendees to watch the high points of what occurs in a trial involving a real life tragedy to give them a better understanding of how their role as a claims representative fits into the defense of the case.
